This aircraft was formerly aboard the USS Intrepid, with a fictitious serial number. She has since been moved to the National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey, Sea Girt. Some sources quote this aircraft as being 51-9430, with the fictitious serial 52-7066. That aircraft was supposed to have been moved from McGuire AFB to Sea Girt in 1998, but I photographed that very aircraft in 2008. Some photos show that plane also on the USS Intrepid in the 1990s. As of 2010, there were no Republic F-84F Thunderstreaks at the Intrepid Museum. |
