| I was the 1st Dedicated Crew Chief of this wonderful aircraft. Original Tail # when it arrived at RAF Bentwaters was 81-0002. Nicknamed "Balls 2". I was stationed at Bentwaters " the Best kept secret in the USAF From Feb 1980 till October 1991. " This aircraft also suffered another mishap before being involved in a Midair collision in the 1994 and crashing. While deployed to Wiesbaden AB in Germany the aircraft had all 3 landing gear retract while aircraft was on the ground. Aircraft was repaired at RAF Kemble. | |
