| About 1949 or 50, there was an air display at White Waltham airfield. Bond Air Services was offering "flips" in a DH-86. It was 10 shillings for a pretty short circuit. I didn't do it because ten bob was quite a lot to me then, and the flight was short, but I've wished ever since I had flown in a DH 86. (The voice on the P/A called it a Dragonfly) The one involved had a dark blue fuselage--not the scheme I have seen in photos of DVJ. It may have been G-ADVH, but that seems to have had a shorter life with Bond. Does anyone have more info? | |
