| I learnt to fly in G-ALTW (which carried a white number '3' on the tail fin) in 1961. It was one of five Tigers operated by the Cambridge Aero Club. I think 'TW was the personal mount of the CFI -Mr Worsdell who was also my instructor. The other aircraft - which were all silver with agreen/black (?) stripe and a black tail number were: 'No.1' G-AGYU (I only flew this one once -I think it was a 'good ship'), 'No.2' G-AHXN (the fastest kite in the fleet - must have had a good prop fitted!), 'No.4' G-AIBN (a really nice aeroplane) and 'No.5' G-ANFI (a 'sloppy' aeroplane which nobody liked very much). All my photographs of 'TW have vanished over the years but Ithink I still have one of 'BN taxying. |
