 This aircraft was built as C-47A 42-24166, but transferred to the RAF as Dakota Mk.III FL510, delivered 8/9/43. Deployed to India 9/20/43, spent time with No. 216 Sqdn. Later operated by No. 48 Sqdn as “Sister Anne.” Ferried to U.K. on 12/10/47, but on 1/17/49 was place in storage with No.8 Maintenance Unit at Little Rissington. On 10/31/56 was purchased by Eagle Aircraft Services, and then went to Lund Aviation. On 4/15/57 the plane went to the French Air Force as “24166”, coded 706B, and served several tours with several different groups until 1971 when it was placed in storage. Sold as F-BTDB to Rousseau Aviation, date unknown. On 6/26/72 was registered as CF-POY with Laurentian Air Service Ltd in Ottawa, then transferred a couple more times before returning to Laurentian. It Sept. 1983 was acquired byTransfair, Inc of Longue-Point-de-Mingam, Canada and operated as a freighter. Date unknown, became G-AOYE in the U.K.
