| N13UG is a standard version KR2 2place, side by side with fixed conventional gear. This plane was started in 1987 with the first flight in 1991. Weight when first flown was 482lbs (yes that’s really light) with no electric system. After a year of flying the builder decided to add a starter, battery, alt, 2nd ign system, lights, Val 760 comm radio and all the stuff that goes with it. The weight grew to 555lbs, which is still very light for a full electric KR. Most KRs out there weigh around 650lbs. All materials and fasteners used in this plane are AN/aircraft quality, no hardware store junk here. This plane cruises at 170mph TAS at 8,000ft, burning 4-5gph. The header tank holds 11gals, no wing tanks, for a reserve range of 300-350mi. Control is very light and precise. Once you fly and grow accustomed to light, fast planes like the KR you are spoiled. Everything else feels like a flying truck. When trimmed out at cruise in smooth air this plane flies hands off. You can change pitch and roll by moving your arms or legs. Overall this planes performs very close to a Cessna 182RG in climb and cruise. Power is by a modified Revmaster 1835cc VW conversion type engine.
