This aircraft (same N-Number) was used as the jump plane in the 1969 movie "Gypsy Moths" about barnstorming sky divers. An excellent action/love story, by the way.

On Aug. 18, 1974 I made my first parachute jump from this baby at Elsinore Paracenter, near Lake Elsinore, CA. Back then you could make your first jump (static line) ALONE! You would climb out onto a small step, with instructor watching, then "hit the silk'.... which then was the old canopy-type parachute!

I flew this airplane at the skydiving center in Elsinore, Ca. during the years 1977-79. Would love to have some pictures of it if possible. |
