My father and a friend restored and flew this aircraft for 12 year from the Baytown, Texas airport. Right before he died in 2008, his biggest regret was that they wouldn't renew his license due to health reasons. I was the only one of three sons who flew much with him and I liked the Luscombe. He and his partner sold the plane to buy a Stinson Stationwagon (why they never bought a mainstream brand I don't know) so they would have 4 seats. I quit flying about this time, partially because I didn't like the way the Stinson flew compared to the Luscomb. I am glad to see it is still flying, Dad would have liked that. Enjoy it and keep it airworthy. Please send me a photo if you can. |
