| My dad bought N381C about 1968 and rebuilt it in our garage in Compton California. I remember it being all in parts all over the garage. When it was all put together He flew it out of Compton airport He was an aircraft mechanic in World War II. He painted it yellow with red trim and sewed the seat covers, got his pilots license and flew us all over the place in that plane. I have a photo I can send you! We are so happy that someone is taking good care of this plane! I just sent my dad the link to the current picture. | |

| I sent a previous msg different return email, but can be reached more easily at dalearrows@aol.com. I know my father would love to correspond with the new owners about this plane. He is so glad N381C is still around and getting TLC! He was an airplane mechanic in the Marine Corps in World War II, and completely restored this plane when he bought it about 1968. The engine, the fabric, seat covers, paint, everything. It was in pieces in our garage! It was a labor of love for him to do it. Then he took flying lessons, got his pilots license and flew it all over the place! My dad is in his 80s now and would love to hear from you!! That plane was very special to him. It's the only one he ever rebuilt. I have a photo I took of it at Meadowlark Airport in Huntington Beach around 1970 I would like to email to the new owners, if they would like to have it. :) | |
