My father owned this aircraft in the 50's. His name was Bill Odom. He was taught to fly by my uncle, Lucky Minor, who flew Spitfires in the RAF Eagle Squadron. He taught him from the airport in Galveston. My dad flew out of Texas City and shared the airplane with 4 other individuals. He sold the plane before I was born. For my 10 th birthdat in '73, my father was going to rent a plane and take me flying for the first time since crashing this plane in a ditch in Mabank Texas. It knocked off a wheel and scared him pretty badly. Anyway, this plane just happened to be at the Texas City airport that day and the owner flew us around Galveston County for quite a while. I hope all this helps. |
