Arthur Moore and his partners at Snorkel Fire Equipment were the original new owners of 5272V based in St. Joseph Missouri. My father was VP of sales and a past Navel Flight instructor who taught me to fly. The first maneuver he taught me in 5727V he said was "A Death Defying Act" It was a 180 degree turn saying "if you get into bad weather you flew into it so do this maneuver and you will get out of it" If JFK Jr. has been taught this and heeded the warning he would be alive today. Another thing I remember about 5727V was it's base price of about $52,000.00. However after Radios DME Transponder coupled Auto pilot etc. it totaled about $116,000. The DME was about $13,000.00 which is a lot a bucks for something that only worked about half of the time. Well, I remember fondly my many trips in 5727Victor. One was from Florida to St. Joseph with a stop in Memphis for overnight. My father in left seat and I in right with my mother in back. Memphis tower cleared us on final and I spotted a Cessna 172 almost but not quite directly below us. I screamed 172 below us go around go around. We did and that was the only time in my life I heard my father use a swear word over the radio.
