| I flew my first solo in this aircraft and later flew my private pilot checkride in it. Both events occurred in 1973, from Westside Air Park, a small airfield west of San Antonio, Texas. The checkride was flown from a small airport near San Marcos, Texas. I remember when it was sold. I lost track of it until reading of the crash in 1998 that destroyed it, killing both occupants. I had a very sentimental feeling for this aircraft, naturally, and was saddened by the news of the fatal accident. | |
