I am the widow of Richard Clifton Darcey, Jr. who built this aircraft. He flew it to Rockford, Illinois in 1968 and won two trophies (Best paint & Conformity to Design). It was on the cover of Sports Aviation July 1969 issue. My son found that someone in California was the last person who flew the plane, but crashed in an orange grove, losing his life. I think this was somewhere between 2001 and 2004. Richard died in a crop dusting accident July 29, 1969 just after the magazine for July came out. |
