N714KU is living a pampered life-style, parked in hangar at Benson Municipal Airport, the aircraft can be witnessed flying around in South-Eastern Arizona on sunny weekend mornings. She has been recently retrofitted with new tires, new interior components, new wheel strut fairings, a new ELT with remote panel, new instrument panel mounted intercom system, an awesome propeller balancing by Performance Aviation of Benson, and yes one new Titian cylinder. The refurbishment process continues, and I am presently looking for a nice nose wheel fairing. The airplane flies great and is my heart and soul. -Stephen C.

Happy New Year 2007. This year, N714KU got two spanking new Slick 4301 magnetos, spark plugs, rotor caps, wires, a new battery, and a new a new sky Tech starter motor/clutch assembly. I finished the interior with the last of new plastic interior components from Vantage Plane Plastics. Finally found a vintage Cessna nose wheel skirt that goes with the plane, and I'll be putting that on as soon as I find the correct hardware to mount it. Looking forward to upgrading the avionics and instrument panel this year as well. - Stephen C.

N714KU did get a panel mounted AirGizmos GPS panel dock AvMap GeoPilot GPS unit. Awesome! The aircraft received a refurbished yellow-tagged engine mount during the annual process, to replace the one that was bent in a landing accident in 1978, resulting in correct engine position and an aircraft that flies much better. N714KU also received replacement engine control cables, and the nose wheel dampener and fuel filter were both rebuilt this year as well. N714KU continues to be an honest, easy, fun flying machine. -Stephen C. |
