Wow! We wondered what happened to 71SA after I sold it back in 81 or 82? to a proffesor at MSU in Lansing, Michigan I bought the airplane from Old Kent Bank in 1981 for, would you believe. 4200.00,!!! They had to repo the airplane from Mettetal Airport in Plymouth, Mich. I went with a bank agent and we cut the chain off the prop put there so delinquent owner could not move the plane. I flew it to Grand Rapids and made a deal with the bank. It had 800 hrs apprx TT when I got it. Had to put in a new starter and added rear seats to make it 4 place.. Had it based at Greenville , Mich until I sold it. Took 2 mos in summer time for sale to try and get 7200.00 for it. Where was a crystal ball when you need one?? Reason for sale?..... Avgas hit $2.00 a gallon after R. Regan removed price controls on gasoline. Now, I not only have not flown since I sold it, cannot even afford to drive. Thanks Ron!! The Prof. had it based at Dewitt, Michigan and that is last I knew of 71SA history. Please update me on current owner and |
