| I flew this H-34 in Alaska in 1983-84. It then belonged to a company called Bristol Bay Helicopters. Owner Dave Mahrt. We supported the fisheries in Bristol Bay. Later out of Talkeetna we hauled the 2200# steel pilings (two at a time) out into the woods for the foundations of towers of the Fairbanks-ANC powerline intertie. Sept. of 2013 I re-discovered this machine in Brewster, WA where it and 6-7 other H-34s, are used in agriculture to dry off the cherries from spring showers in the area. Cherry farmers using helicopters have doubled their crops. | |
