My dad (Capt. Don Anderson) and several of his friends (all Delta Pilots), owned this airplane back in the mid- 1960's. I was looking at a picture of it yesterday, where it was parked at its hanger at Charlie Brown Airport (Fulton County Airport, near Atlanta.) My dad's '50 Chevrolet PU (named "Cannonball") is also in the picture. At that time, the plane had been stripped bare, and it was about to get a new paint job (Delta livery: white, with blue widgit on the tail and striping). Dad and his friends sold it and bought a Bonanza, which we flew from Atlanta to South Dakota. We had that plane until a friend retracted the landing gear just a little bit too soon... |
