| Glad to see that 048 is still 'at it'! I flew it from Les and Tina Horton's Shawanga Valley Aviation, Orange County, NY to Hayward, CA in November 1970 for my brother-in-law, Charles Andrews. A very fine memory. On my first leg out of NYS, I found myself low on fuel . .all the corks were down . .over Gettysburg Battlefield in PA. The Eternal Flame at the Gettysburg Memorial and Ike's grass airstrip with the white x's at each end were the guideposts I needed to make it to Chambersburg! Thanks for my wings Les. John | |
