I purchased the BE-58 N9191Q in 1988 in Mobile, Alabama, and flew the plane to Europe. I did use the Nothern route (Moncton, Goosebay, Narsarsuaq, Kevlavik, Zuerich). I used the BE-58 for business in Switzerland and Spain. Crossing the alpes in winter was problematic so I sold the plane in Switzerland to a new owner who, unfortunately, did lend it to a pilot without enough IFR experience. In 1999 that particular pilot crashed in bad weather in the French alpes. The entire family (5 people) were killed. |
