| | Rented this aircraft back in Sept 1990... had to get 137 more PIC hours to qualify formy UK CPL and had only 1 month to do it.. lost a week travelling and 5 days with bad weather in Virginia ( Manassas...) so it was hard work. 17U was owned by a flight-school at Ft Pierce ( St Lucie) a/p Fl. After a few days flying around Okeechobee I took it up to Washington DC to see friends... back down to Orlando to pick up my wife... back up to DC then out to New Orleans and on to New Mexico... was trying for the Pacific coast and back but all radios packed up so while they were being sorted I had to be content flying New Mexico/Texas/ Oklahoma... by then time was getting short so headed back to Fl then on out to the Bahamas and finally back to St Lucie Fl... Wonderful little aeroplane... so many memories.. thanks for looking after us 17U... safe flying and if you're ever for sale maybe you could let me know.. ( now live in NY ) |
