This fine little airplane is still going at 61 years old. It nests in its own T-hanger at Kissimmee Gateway Airport between flights. Equiped with modern nav/com equipment, it takes us reliably anywhere we want to go. The airplane has flown dozens of Young Eagles. Fred Weick (designer of the Ercoupe) made his final flights in this plane. After he passed away, his ashes were released from this airplane above his home but sum of Fred's ashes did not get out and were found to be deposited on the sticky control system linkage were they remain to this day. So, you might say Fred still flys with us everytime we take this little bird up. |
