This aircraft crashed in South Haven, MI (Van Buren County) Saturday, July 15th 2006. This is from the news report online. 'VAN BUREN COUNTY update --Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board continue to look into the cause of a deadly plane crash near South Haven. It happened around 2 p.m. Saturday at the South Haven Regional Airport. Witnesses told police that something fell off the plane shortly after takeoff. The single engine plane circled a short time, then crashed nose first in a ditch about 100 yards from the runway. South Haven Police say 45-year old Michelle Taylor from Elkhart, Indiana died on the scene. The man flying the plane, 57 year old Edwin L. Wilsey, also from Elkhart, was taken to the hospital. He is listed in serious condition with non-life threatening injuries. Wilsey was the registered owner of the plane which is a 1982 fixed wing, single engine, ARMPRIEST. |
