N9078E, 1946 Aeronca 11AC Chief C/N 11AC-710, 78E at Alpine County airport after crossing the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mts. seen in the background. The reliable Chief, given time, will take you almost anywhere you may want to go. It did for me time after time.

  • N9078E - The difference between the top pic.and bottom (in 1977) is the 15 years that it sat in our garage. My dad never saw 78E fly again. Thanks Dad for the 2K (enjoyable) hours I was fortunate to fly this fine little plane. - by S B J by S B J
  • N9078E - 78E- Made a quick stop at Eagleville airport (now closed ) in NE Calif. 78E flew over 10 hours this day. It was a long day! Easy to understand (headache around hour 8) how the term airknocker came about. - by S B J by S B J
  • N9078E @ TCY - This was one of the nicer hangars 78E has enjoyed but it was for only a short time. The City of Tracy for some reason decided to tear it down thus putting four planes outside. Go figure. - by S B J by S B J @ TCY
