This aircraft was bought by a company called Target Towing Aircraft Ltd in 1969 along with Meteor G-ASLW. The plan was to fly them to Biafra for the Biafran Air Force but G-ASLW crashed into the sea of the Cape Verde Islands.
G-AXNE reached Bissau in Portugese Guinea but the loss of the second Meteor led the authorities to ask questions about their ultimate destination and G-AXNE was abandoned at Bissau.
