| My dad owned a STEARMAN with this registration number from 1949-52. I am assuming it is the same aircraft ,if so, he would have been the first civilian owner. He operated a crop dusting business (MILLS & CO. AERO AGRICULTURE) and operated out of Grenada and Greenwood, Mississippi during the period 1949-1952.This aircraft along with Stearman number N4440N were purchased from the US government and converted to crop dusters.I understand that N4440N is still flying today. I would like to hear from anyome that knows about these two aircraft. Also would like to see recent photos of them. I have good photos of them taken during 1949-52 period. They were painted silver with dark blue trim on wings, tail and fuselage. | |
