N9680R was flying US military contract cargo and Baja California passenger service at RJ Airlines in the late 70's. I was the next owner. Then Lee Cammaron. Then Air Cortez. Then B & D Aircraft(Lucky Seven). Then Wayne Sturman. I heard a rumor the next owner made an unsuccessful off airport landing destroying N9680R.

N9680R was/is a G-18S with factory JATO. Additional modifications: Aeroproducts 10,200 pound gross weight STC. Aeroproducts spar strap. Aeroproducts combination cargo/airstair main cabin door STC. Pilot escape hatch Form 337. Fuel capacity 396 USG. Two 98 gallon mains, two 60 gallon outboards and an 80 gallon nose bladder(fuel components all beechcraft). Quick change interior Form 337.
This is/was a great twin beech with a lot of history.
