VH-GRY is still owned by the original purchaser who took delivery in November 1977.The sailplane has only flown 1,201 hours from a total of 480 launches. A complete sand back and reprofile/repaint was completed in October 1989. Wing profile templates were made to suit the slightly thicker than 15% wings and microballoon/epoxy was used to fill to the correct profile. The wings were repainted with Prestec gelpaint. Best flights include 24 x 500K+ flights,7 x 600K+flights, 4 x 750K+ triangles, 1 X 700K triangle, 2 x 800K+ triangles & 2 x O&R's of 820K & 880K. The sailplane held the British National Triangular distance record of 840.2Kms from January 1982 until it was beaten by the late Robbie Robertson with his amazing triangular distance record of around 1,362Kms!
