| 1972 saw the formation of the Vintage Pair display team by the Central Flying School with this Meteor and Vampire T.11 XH 304. Sadly, the Vampire collided in mid-air wth the Meteor during a display at the Mildenhall Air Fete on August 21, 1986. The aircraft were written off and the occupants of both aircraft were killed. | |

| The crash occurred on May 25th, 1986, not August. The crew of the Meteor were killed, but not both aircraft - I believe the crew in the Vampire survived, although the pilot was severely injured. My brother was the passenger in the Meteor. | |
