This magnificent two-seat Spitfire began life as a single-seat HF Mk9 in July 1942, based in the Mediterranean with 253 Squadron. Post WWII it was operated by both the Italian and Israeli Air Force.

G-CTIX @ FISHBURN - Supermarine 509 Spitfire T9. Built as an HFIX single seat variant, 462 flew with 253 Sqn in WW2 and latterly with the Italian and Israeli Air Forces. Converted to a TR9 two seat by Charles Church, she now resides in Wales. - by Malcolm Clarke
