N2980 @ EGLB - N2980 is the only surviving Brooklands-built Wellington. During a training flight on the 31st December 1940 she developed engine trouble and ditched into Loch Ness. All the crew escaped, but the rear gunner was killed when his parachute failed to deploy. - by Chris Hall

N2980 @ EGLB - rear section of Wellington Mark IA N2980 on display at Brooklands Museum, This aircraft lost power during a training flight in 1940 and ditched in Loch Ness. It was recovered from the bottom of Loch Ness in September 1985 and restored. - by Chris Hall
