48Z looking a little lonely on Silver lake which is several miles from Baker,Calif.Silver Lake was used as a WWII training base as seen in the 0O2 (Baker,Ca) picture. Many airplanes preceded 48Z landing on Sliver Lake and once saw a C130 do a touch and go

N5248Z - 48Z at the Cottonwood Landing airport right next to the Colorado river. This super neat airport is now closed. Again the environmentalists (National Recreation Area) won out over us pilots! - by S B J
