N5S, 1970 Pitts S-1C Special, c/n BBC-1, My Dad, Chuck Shafer, built this plane, Pitts Special, in our garage and then flew it in airshows. At 180hp t was a handful but Dad owned a SWIFT and knew how to handle the power. N5S stood for N-Five-Shafer's after our family.
