0Q6, Shingletown airport (closed 2002) in NE Calif. had an unusual slope to one end of the runway.It was flat then a sharp drop and then a slight decent. When landing you sometimes wondered where the ground was.To bad it was closed .View is South.

- Shingletown near its end .Lovely airport east of Redding,Ca.Little used but nice.Rise at the N end helped if not off by then as I saw with a Cherokee .It was very close! Disappeared in dust, so much that I started running to it, but they made it.Somehow? - by S B J

- Shingletown airport in NE california,was closed around 2005.It was at 3800 ft and offered some relief when it was 110 in the central valley.Was a very nice airport. Mt Lassen (10,457 ft) is seen in the distance. - by S B J
