NONE, Bob Ried strip in the Sacramento Delta near Rio Vista,Ca.The 1200 foot was fine for Bob in his Super Cub (N6995B) but not my Tcraft until I departed away from the trees & water but downwind.Even then it was tight with the little experience I had in 1973., photo by S B J

NONE, Bob Ried strip (private) near Rio Vista,Ca. It is seen in the middle of pic in 1973.It is where I learned that a 65 Tcraft does not get off like a 150 Cub due to short strip and high grass.Very near a NTSB statistic that day!! View is west., photo by S B J

1Q4, View down runway 12.At one point the FAA said the threshold was to near an existing irrigation ditch, so airport was closed.Somebody came up with the idea of moving threshold down 300 feet as seen. FAA happy and airport reopened., photo by S B J

RIU, N43961 at Rancho Murieta airport in the mid 70s. Back then the only thing there was a beautiful runway and parking for 10 planes.Best thing was a short walk to the Cosumnes river (fantastic in summer) and an old fig tree that produced awesome figs., photo by S B J

TVL, This picture (as poor as it is)will give you some idea why pilots get in serious trouble departing TVL.A stright out or left crosswind puts you in high terrain that many planes cannot outclimb. This has led to many fatal accidents., photo by S B J
