I was the plane captain for this aircraft at NATC PAX River. It was flown once by John Glenn. The regular test pilot was Lt Knutson. This was a really good bird and I totaly enjoyed working on it. Wish I could go back to those days!

I was the plane captain for this aircraft at PAX River. Lt. Knutson was the assigned pilot. He was shot down in vietnam and is pictured along side of the F8U in the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola. I took alot of pride in this bird and used to wax and clean it every weekend. John Glenn also flew it in high altitude test. I think it was in prep for the space program.
