From The National - Abu Dhabi's english language publication, February 28th 2011.
A McKinnon G21G turbo-prop seaplane veered to the left shortly after takeoff from Al Ain International Airport and crashed on the taxiway before catching fire, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said. All four on board died.

There is no such thing as a 1944 McKinnon G-21G; the model G-21G was not approved under TC 4A24 until 1969 and only 2 were built by McKinnon, serials 1205 (N77AQ) and 1226 (N70AL). The aircraft pictured here was built by Fish & Wildlife Service in Alaska and it is improperly registered as a McKinnon G-21G (it was never conformed or certified as a McKinnon G-21G by either McKinnon or the FAA; the FWS just started calling it a G-21G in 1974 without any official supporting documentation whatsoever.
