This was a government owned T41. It was loaned to the Fort Bliss Flying Club in early 1970's. We had it painted and upholstery put into it for comfort. It also helped with the noise level. It was a great instrument trainer because of the extra power over what a civilian 172 had. It was, if I recall correctly, about 213 H.P. and I do know it had a constants speed prop. It was also fuel injected, as opposed to the Carbuerators used on 172s. It had no baggage door like the civilian models.
I instructed many student in instrument flight procedures in that aircraft.

took my commercial and instrument tickets in this aircraft. it was crashed at El Paso International due to fuel exhaustion by Don Sheridan, one of the worst complainers at the Fort Bliss Flying club
