This aircraft was built as C-47A 43-30709, but diverted to the US Navy as R4D-5 BuNo. 39091 on 10/1/43. It was assigned to Naval Air Transport Service, serving with VR-5 and VR-11 Squadrons. It was SOC 1/31/46 and sold immediately to Hughes Aircraft as NC88756. On 5/17/48 it was leased to All American Aviation as N91221. Transferred through several other hands until 5/19/72 when it went to Canada as CF-AOH with Aircraft Sales International Canada, Ltd. Sold to Nordair Ltd on 4/5/73, and then passed through several more owners over the years until finally returning to the USA ca. 1993, now registered as N293WM.
