I owned this aircraft for 20 years. It was based at KMZZ and then KGIF.
The 182A is a better "utility" aircraft than the newer Skylanes. Unlike the Skylane, the entire horizontal stabilizer is moved with a jack screw for elevator trim. This allows for full elevator travel during the landing flare. Also, the manual flaps extend to 45 degrees. I made many successful landings on short, soft grass runways.
