My father (Les Call, Roseville, California) owned this airplane from about 1959 to 1971. He bought it used from a corporation that owned it and paid $12,500 for it. It came from the factory painted white over red with black trim in the standard G Model paint scheme. In 1965 he had it modified with S Model trim (a larger third window, S wingtips and paint scheme. It was painted with with blue and brown trim which was a rare color combination. I obtained my pilots license in 1966 at age 19 and was checked out in the Bonanza. It was fun to fly the Bonanza some where and see the looks on people's face when a 19 year old got out of it. The plane was flown across the U.S. to New York City, to Baja California, and on a extended trip to Alaska. That plane was my dadS pride and joy. In 1970 my parents went to Italy to live for several years, and my father leased the plane to 3 dentists while he was gone. Within a year one of the guys did a gear up landing. My father wanted to plane repaired and sold before he came home. He didn't want to see the plane after it was wrecked even if it was repaired. I forget the sellinig price or who bought it.
The plane was on the cover of one of the flying magazines in original form about 20+ years ago. I think it must have been a factory photo. I have a copy of the same photo that I found on the internet.
