Converted into a model G-21C 'Hybrid' turboprop (as opposed to a pure 4-engine piston-powered G-21C) by McKinnon from ex-USN Grumman JRF-5 (G-21A) s/n B-138 (USN BuNo. 87744) in Dec. 1967-Jan. 1968.

McKinnon certified it as a model G-21C (i.e. 'Hybrid' turboprop conversion) s/n 1203 in 1968. In 1984, Lind Air Services Ltd of Richmond, BC claimed to have "upgraded" it to become a model G-21G, but they had no authority to do so; they were not the OEM or the TC holder and no STC has ever existed that was approved to make such an "upgrade." In reality, the so-called model G-21C 'Hybrid' turboprops never properly conformed to the model G-21C type design in areas unrelated to their supposed simultaneous turbine conversions per STC SA1320WE. If Lind Air Services installed any features on CF-BCI (as it was registered at the time) that made it conform to the model G-21G design, first of all, they did so with no FAA-sanctioned authorization or approval and they were really just making it conform to the original model G-21C design as it was supposed to have in 1968. (McKinnon's so-called model G-21C 'Hybrid' turboprops were really just pre-mature models G-21E - a year before the model G-21E was approved and two years before N121H was converted and re-certified as the only official McKinnon model G-21E.
