I co-owned this Mooney back in the 90's with my friend Greg Patton. One of Baxter's stories was about how he had Mooney sign the plastic flashing near the windshield. Signature could still be seen somewhat when I owned it. Since it was sun damaged, chances are the plastic that Mooney signed has been replaced by now. Original paint was beige with orange and brown striping and rudder.
Very solid plane, Johnson bar landing gear was fast and absolutely reliable. Flew like a dream with light input pressures. Brakes were the only irritant. They needed frequent rebuilding to keep the seals from leaking.

This aircraft belonged to Gordon Baxter of Flying Magazine. It was largely maintained by Charley Dugosh of Kerrville, Texas.

Wow, freaky. I just did the same thing as Shane. Reading Bax Seat again. What are the chances of 2 guys doing the same thing at the same time and happening to come across the same web page. Greetings from Australia to all Bax fans. He'll be sorely missed the world over.
