We are the current owners of the Gokchoff STC's and currently rebuilding 2 of the original and an additional 4 ST3KR wrecks to the STA-R-5 with the ranger 6-440 200hp 0SMOH engines. These are all metal fairings not fiberglass and starter and alternator additional STC's for STANDARD AIRWORTHINESS Certificate. contact Kent Gorton at kentgorton@bellsouth.net or T. John Gokchoff built 5 of the ranger powered ryans. The 2nd one built was damaged in a take off incident. It was rebuilt by Bob Orr and again damaged in an off field landing incident. The 4th one was destroyed in a incident shortly after it was built, and has not be rebuilt to date.

In the late 1970s John Gokchoff of Santa Paula, CA obtained certification to re-manufure Ryan ST-3-KR airplanes. A couple of the many modifications that went into the new aircraft was the insallation of a Ranger 6-440-C5 engine and a re-design of the landing gear to reemble the Ryan ST landing gear. He designated the aircraft STA-R-5. Of the four he built, N721R is the only polished, all aluminum, one made. The others had fiberglass fairings and landing gear fairings, the entire aircraft were painted. The three others were flush rivited. N721R used original round heads to keep a period look and appeal. John hand formed and fitted all of the fairings, including the aluminum gear fairings.
