This aircraft was built as a Douglas Sleeper Transport, DST-A-207A and delivered to United Airlines on 3/25/38, named "Nebraska." On 6/2/42 it was impressed into service with USAAF as C-48B 42-56101. It was returned to United on 6/7/44 and named "Catalina." It changed hands many times over the years. Registered as N22Z on4/19/56. In 1978 registered as N7753A
