N5248Z, 1961 Piper PA-22-108 Colt, c/n 22-8931, 48Z at Cottonwood Landing airport (only a dirt runway )in 1986.This fantastic strip was closed in 92.It did not fit in with the National Recreation Area.That is the Colorado river in top picture.Naturally,recreation did not mean airplanes.

N5248Z - 48Z looking a little lonely on Silver lake which is several miles from Baker,Calif.Silver Lake was used as a WWII training base as seen in the 0O2 (Baker,Ca) picture. Many airplanes preceded 48Z landing on Sliver Lake and once saw a C130 do a touch and go - by S B J

N5248Z @ 1Q4 - 48Z at the New Jerusalem airport near Tracy,Ca.Even with over 4K hours in tailwheel planes, I still immensely enjoyed my time with 48Z. A fun little plane! Purchased 48Z for resale but surprised myself on how much I enjoyed it. - by S B J
