Aircraft N5248Z Photo

N5248Z, 1961 Piper PA-22-108 Colt, C/N: 22-8931
Never understood why a lot of pilots liked short wing Pipers until I owned 48Z. By no means a short field plane, but still lots of fun!

N5248Z - 48Z at Cottonwood Landing airport (only a dirt runway )in 1986.This fantastic strip was closed in 92.It did not fit in with the National Recreation Area. That is the Colorado river in top picture.Naturally, recreation did not mean airplanes. - by S B J

N5248Z - 48Z at the Cottonwood Landing airport right next to the Colorado river. This super neat airport is now closed. Again the environmentalists (National Recreation Area) won out over us pilots! - by S B J

N5248Z - 48Z looking a little lonely on Silver lake which is several miles from Baker,Calif.Silver Lake was used as a WWII training base as seen in the 0O2 (Baker,Ca) picture. Many airplanes preceded 48Z landing on Sliver Lake and once saw a C130 do a touch and go - by S B J
