Gravelly Valley Airport Photo

N39932 at Lake Pillsbury in 1991. View is to the north and down the runway. Most pilots take off in the opposite direction toward the lake to avoid the higher terrain. Notice driftwood near 932 which is from high water.

1Q5, Lake Pillsbury looking west. Because of the mountainous terrain,1Q5 is not pilot friendly when windy. A 25 kt wind contributed to a fatal C172 accident on 5-8-82. At one time there was a cross wind runway which could have helped this unfortunate pilot., photo by S B J

1Q5, Right down the runway to the north and several visiting aircraft which included a Cessna 310. This 310 pilot put on a little airshow which was very impressive to say the least! Notice pickup crossing runway so be prepared when landing for this possibility, photo by S B J
