Q59, Fremont airport ,Calif. Picture is two years after closure. For such an active airport it was remarkable safe. There was several accidents, but only one was a fatal (8-8-75) and was due to a mechanical issue.Fremont had a lot of good pilots and instructors., photo by S B J

Q59, Fremont airport,Calif. Old runway 31L,31R was a nice dirt runway. This was also the starting point for many (15 years worth) of my flying adventures! They sure were good years to be in general aviation.Would not trade them for anything!, photo by S B J

Q59, Fremont,Ca airport ground view after closing. While it happened many times in many places, this was my frist experience with a dying airport.Very sad after a enjoyable 15 year relationship. View is to the north and down tiedown row., photo by S B J

Q59, From time to time, Fremont airport would go from a land base to a seaplane based airport. Unfortunately for Cub 30472, this was one of those times. The Fremont flight school is seen behind 472. They did not offer any floatplane instruction., photo by S B J
