This aircraft was operationally a part of the 72nd Recon/Bomb wing, Ramey AFB, PR and was assigned to the 60th Bomb Squadron. I was a crew member that flew on it during the mid 1950s as a Radio/ECM/gunner and have many fond memories of this aircraft. It most certainly was a Big, Bad, Beatutiful, Bomber of that time period.

This aircraft was originally the YB-36, becoming the YB-36A and finally RB-36E. It was at the Air Force Museum until 1971 when the new museum opened with a B-36J. This aircraft was chopped up and then purchased by Walter Soplata for his collection in Newbury, OH
