This P-51D Mustang as French Air Force 412471 of the Jean-Baptiste Salis Collection at La Ferte-Alais was destroyed at La Rochel-sur-Yon, France on July 24, 1998. Shortly after take-off, it rolled at low level and crashed back onto the airfield. Tragically, both the pilot and passenger were killed.
